Important Announcement
Appeal

To all past members of 36 Regiment and Visitors to the 36 Websites. Since 2001 when I first
launched the 36 Regiment Website and it's Satellite sites we have grown to be one of the Largest
and most viewed Regimental Websites on the Internet.

Because of the popularity of the Websites and the way they
have grown it has annually put the cost up of running the Websites? With the exception of
one year I have born the cost of running the 36 Websites. Sadly I am now in a position because of the
increase in Fee's for hosting etc to either dramatically scale down the Websites or in the extreme
remove them.

I would like to Appeal to you if possible to make a small Donation towards the upkeep and
long term future of the 36 Regiment Websites on the Internet.

I can guarantee that any Donations will solely be used in the maintainece and upkeep of our Websites.
I would like in advance to thank anyone for their generosity who is able to help in keeping the spirit of the
Regiment alive in this way. I will publish all Donation received on the Website.
If you are able to help then please E-Mail me on the link below.

Thank you for your time

Press Release - Sept 2005

TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE FOR
36 REGIMENT RA AT SHOEBURY GARRISON

Former members of the 36 Heavy Air Defence Regiment Royal Artillery are set to take a trip down memory
lane at their former Barracks at Shoebury Garrison just outside Southend-on-Sea.The Regiment's 21st Reunion
will take place on 24th September 2005 and the ex-soldiers will be remembering their past with a visit to
the Horseshoe Barracks where they were once stationed.

The 36 Regiment was based at Shoeburyness between 1956 until 1971 when the soldiers were
moved to the Napier Barracks in Dortmund, Germany.

The former military Garrison has been restored as part of a major regeneration project by leading housebuilder
Gladedale Homes - part of the Gladedale Group - to create a luxury development offering a mix of
traditional period properties and new build homes.

The former soldiers and Gladedale Homes are working together to build a history of what life was like when
the Garrison was in use and are appealing to local residents in a bid to obtain information, memories
and artefacts that might help.

Keith Holderness who served in the last unit to be posted at Shoebury Garrison is helping
Reunion Secretary Paul Barber to organise the meeting. He said: "Shoeburyness was a popular posting
for young gunners as it was close to the nightlife at Southend-on-Sea. I was there from 1968 to 1971 and have
extremely happy memories of my time at the Horseshoe Barracks.

"There will be a great sense of coming home at this year's Reunion and over 100 members will have the opportunity
to visit the restored Barracks. I would be grateful to anyone that can provide further insight into life at Shoebury Garrison."

Debbie Gallier, Sales Manager at Gladedale Homes, said: "At Gladedale Homes we are focused upon
preserving the Garrison's nostalgic charms. This reunion will not only be a chance for soldiers to meet old friends
but it will also show that their memories will live on at Shoebury Garrison.

"We are keen to hear from as many people to help fill us in on the history of our new development."

If  anyone has any information on the history of the 36 Regiment Royal Artillery at Shoebury Garrison
please write to Gemma McGhee, the BIG partnership, 5 Park Circus Place, Glasgow, G3 6AH
or email: gemma@bigpartnership.co.uk

Prices at Shoebury Garrison start from £289,995. For further information please contact 01702 290232

New 36 Message Forum

As the existing Message Forum was at it's capacity, I have created a new forum.
You can still read all the old messages by clicking on the Archive button.
I hope you continue to use these Forum's to keep in touch with your mates
and keep the Website active.

New 63/37 Message Forum

I have started a brand new Message Forum for those of you who served
in either 63 HAA Regiment or 37 Regiment RA.

You can access this from this Link, or from the 63/37 Regiment Page.

Website

I have made some changes to the Website. The Website has grown over the last two
years and we have had a lot of visitors to the site. Unfortunately many seem reluctant to
sign the Guestbook or use the Message Forum's that I have set up. I have now moved the
Forum and placed it alongside the Guestbook at the beginning of the site and hopefully they
will be used  more. I have also taken the Dragon Battery Forum off the Website completely as
there had only been one entry since it was launched.  These facilities are for you to interact
with your friends, please use them,

Best regards
Keith

Garrison Church
Woolwich

Lou Myers has just informed me of the plans to demolish the Old Academy at Woolwich
for the development of luxury homes and flats. This site includes the Garrison Church.
This church is the main Church of the Royal Artillery world-wide. It is the home of all the
Honour Standards and various Rolls of Honour. I am sure there will be a major outcry
when many Gunners will get to know of this plan. RA Branches throughout the Country
are going to force this matter through with Headquarters. If you feel strongly about
this please get in touch with Headquarters at Woolwich.
