Phoenix

The Phoenix Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) is an all weather, day or night, real time surveillance
and target acquisition system. Pheonix's surveillance suite is datalinked to a ground station which, in turn,
transmits the intelligence gathered directly to artillery command posts. The Phoenix UAV is almost
entirely made from Kevlar, glass fibre, carbon reinforced plastics and Nomex honeycomb; and is
powered by a 25hp two stroke flat twin engine. The UAV can be launched within an hour of reaching
launch site. Up to 2 UAV's can be controlled from the same ground contol station.
UAV Wing Span 5.5m;
Max Launch Weight 177 kgs;
Flight Radius 50 kms;
Max Altitude 2700m (9000 ft)

Cymbeline

Cymbeline is a mortar locating radar, in service with the Close Support Artillery Regiments of 1 (UK)
and 3 (UK) Divisions. Cymbeline detects the flight path of the mortar bomb at two points in its trajectory,
as it passes through the radar beam. This allows the Grid Reference of the enemy base plate
to be identified and engaged with artillery.

MSTAR

MSTAR is a Lightweight Pulse Doppler J - Band All Weather Radar that has replaced the ZB 298 in
the detection of helicopters, vehicles and infantry. Powered by a standard army field battery, this radar
will also assist the artillery observer in detecting the fall of shot. The electro-luminescent display that shows
dead ground relief and target track history, also has the ability to superimpose a map grid at 1:50,000 scale,
to ease transfer to military maps. MSTAR can be vehicle borne or broken down into three easily
transportable loads for manpacking purposes.
MSTAR is in service with the Royal Artillery for use by Forward Observation parties and observation
parties mounted in the Warrior Artillery Observation Vehicle (MAOV).
Weight 30 kg:
Wavelength J-Band:
Range in excess of 20 kms.
