Duisburg
My Thanks to Eric (Tich) Burns for sending in his Photo Collection
from his time with 60 Bty in Duisburg 1963-66.
See who you recognise? Names Please.
My thanks to George Lane for this group of Photo's from Glamorgan Barracks,
and the following account about the Missile.
Hi Keith, thought you might be interested in the attached photographs, I joined
36 Wksps in May 1963 and worked with Bob Vine (ASM) in the weapons platoon.
On one of our trips to Anglesey a detour was made by I believe a Sgt Percy Butler RA to
pick up a spare training missile and bring it back to Germany.
I was then given the job of erecting the missile opposite the Regimental Headquarters, the
local RE rep obtained the steel mounting plate and myself, Cpl Paddy O'Reilly and L/Cpl Ian Stewart
did the rest. A lot of people thought that it would probably collapse but one morning when I arrived in
barracks someboby had climbed up from the back of the missile and hung a steel helmet on the nose
that proved it would stay put.
I have had very little contact with anyone from the Regiment since, I moved on to the
1st Bn Royal Fusiliers in September 1966 and finished 25 years service at HQ REME 1 Div in September 1974
Best regards George Lane
Note: The photograph with just the one person on is of me, the others are of course Paddy & Ian.

Here are the very Latest pictures from inside Napier Barracks.
Napier is changing. At present the grounds are cleared from all suspicious objects,
including UXB's. The grounds are also cleared from all unwanted objects. The former
Runway has been taken away and the garages that stood on the Runway have also gone.
My sincere thanks go to Bernhard Weiss who took all these pictures for us.

I took the attached photo in 1975 from the ground floor of F Troop window.
It shows most of 111 Dragaon Battery's BHQ, D Troop, the Armoury, half of E Troop and Battery bar. The two characters in the photo are a little bit obscure, but the one on the right could possibley be
BSM Lowery or Officer.
Keith Moody, D Troop 1975-1976; F Troop 1976-1978. Last year or so left Dortmund for 39 Field in Paderborn
